Lumora is a South African-based store selling teeth whitening strips.

The strips are simple to use: an enamel-safe formula, worn for 30 minutes a day. No trays, no appointment, no taking an afternoon off. They're cut to hold their position, so you can put them on while the kettle boils and get on with your morning.

Why we started

Whitening in South Africa has generally meant one of two things — an expensive session in a dentist's chair, or ordering something off an overseas site and waiting three weeks to find out whether it was worth it.

We wanted a third option. So we found a product we were happy to put our name to, brought stock into the country, and now sell it from here. That means it reaches you in days instead of weeks, and if something goes wrong there's a South African business on the other end of the email rather than a support address in another time zone.

What we're responsible for

What we take responsibility for is everything that happens after you click order: the stock we hold, the courier we use, the guarantee we honour, and the message you send us at nine on a Tuesday night.

Under South African consumer law, we're accountable for the products we sell regardless of who made them. We think that's the right way round.

How we work

We're small and we're new. When you order, you're dealing with the person who packs the parcel and answers the messages — not a support queue.
